Meeting September 18 - Talcott Mountain Science Center
Our first CES meeting of the 2026-2027 year will be held Friday, September 18th - our annual "Summer Summary" meeting, where we invite members to give short presentations about their summer field experiences (trips you've taken, discoveries made, insects collected or reared, etc). It will be held at Talcott Mountain Science Center, in Avon.
If you are interested in sharing with the group, please reply to this email with your name, and an attachment or link for your slideshow. We will aim for 5-10 minutes per person. Due by Sept 16.
Weather permitting, we will also have a moth night opportunity! So bring your blacklights and sheets and generators if you'd like to use your own equipment. We will have one mercury vapor and one blacklight at minimum. Collecting is allowed. We can stay as late as I'm willing to stay before locking up! (if it's raining, we will skip the blacklighting)
DATE: Friday, September 18
LOCATION: Talcott Mountain Science Center, 324 Montevideo Rd, Avon CT (keep driving up the mountain road until you see our sign/gate - some GPS maps bring you to our old entrance)
TIME: 6:00 start for social hour, 7:00 meeting start
FOOD: Pizza and drinks will be provided
