Meeting Nov 22 - Nature Journaling - CAES

Hello CES members!

For this month's meeting, instead of our usual Friday evening, we will be having a midday Saturday workshop!

Time: 12 to 3

Location: Jones Auditorium, CAES, 123 Huntington Street, New Haven, CT

Food: Pizza and drinks provided - bring snacks to share if you'd like!

Topic: Nature Journaling

Description: Join us for an interactive workshop on Nature Journaling! CES President Brigette Zacharczenko will lead a short presentation on Nature Journaling techniques, based on materials provided by the Wild Wonder Foundation. Participants should plan to bring art supplies and specimens, in order to practice journaling techniques. We hope for everyone to share specimens, share ideas, and create some beautiful art!

What we will provide:

-Nature Journaling booklets with tips and prompts

-Extra paper and pencils

-Colored pencils

What you should bring:

-A sketchbook if you have one

-Writing/drawing/art supplies of your choice

-Objects to draw!

Objects could be: pinned specimens, live invertebrates, pressed plants, live plants, rocks, minerals, fossils, shells... anything nature related!

Since part of our goal is to share objects, please ensure whatever you bring is either labeled directly, or in a labeled container with your name.

We would love for guests, and other society members to join us for this meeting! Please spread the word to anyone who you think may be interested. I will be working on social media posts and website updates shortly.

Note - there will NOT be a zoom option for this meeting.
